Before the Big Day
We pride ourselves on being organised and making sure everything runs as smoothly as possible for your big day. We'll get in touch with your venue, and see if they need anything specific from us, for example, checking whether there are any noise restrictions we need to know about, and whereabouts we load in and set up. We'll also talk through timings for your day with you, making sure we have a plan for set times and setlists. Around a week or so before the wedding, we’ll give you a quick call to have a chat through everything and check in and say hello- we want you to feel as relaxed as possible about everything!
We're happy for you to choose some songs from our repertoire, or if you have a first dance in mind, we're happy to learn that too, as long as we're able to play it. Some songs can be quite difficult to cover as a 3 piece band, so please let us know your choice as soon as possible. If you're not happy with it for whatever reason, or you'd prefer the original track, we won't be offended- we always have the option to play the original song through our speakers instead!
If you’ve got some favourite artists or songs as a couple and you’d like to hear us play them, please send them our way too! We’re always happy to see people dancing away to their favourite tunes on their big day, we’ve taken all sorts of requests- as long as we can play it, we’ll try and give it a go!
Our standard arrival time is 6pm, although we do have the option to arrive earlier and setup if needed. We’ll usually check in with the venue to see what’s happening (we know from experience, things can run behind!) and check if it’s OK for us to get our equipment in and get set up. This usually takes around 45 minutes to an hour, including the time to load in our stuff from our cars, but is usually much quicker -we try to make up time if things have fallen behind schedule! We’ll also need a couple of minutes to soundcheck everything, but we’ll check when the best time for this is- we won’t make a load of noise if you’re still in the middle of speeches!
All of our packages include our free playlist service, which saves you hiring a DJ separately to us. You can choose whether we use our pre-recorded playlists, or feel free to create your own, and we’ll download them for you! We also have the option to provide high-energy Ibiza style sax in-between our sets, or we can recommend some awesome DJs too, if you'd like the full experience!
As soon as everything is set up and ready to go, we’ll put on some music until it’s time for us to perform. This can vary depending on your venue, and whether we’re playing your first dance. We’ll chat this through with you beforehand though, however, we find that almost universally, the later we play, the better the party is! Early on in the night your guests will probably still be wanting to socialise, and if we go on later, it means that the evening food will be out of the way too.
In terms of sets from us, our basic package includes 2 x 45 minute sets. However, we usually find most people upgrade to 2 x 60 minute sets, which can also be split into slightly smaller sets of 3 x 40 minutes. This can be a great way of spreading live music throughout the evening, as well as making sure you hear some of your favourite party tunes on the playlist too!
We can end the night playing one of your favourite songs, or if you’d prefer, we can swap over to the playlist until it’s time for us to finish. Our usual packages include a 12 Midnight finish, but we can upgrade this for an additional cost if your venue is licenced for it. Once we’ve played the final song, we’ll pack down as quickly and discreetly as possible. This usually takes around 30-45 minutes to get everything sorted.
