So first off please let me thank everyone we’ve played for and those that have booked. This year has been incredible and even though it’s only our second year we hit 50 bookings, 50!!! So thank you again because without you we wouldn’t be one of Cheshire’s most sort after wedding, corporate or private event band! You guys rock!
2019 started with auditions for a new drummer, we had a lot of interest and many funny applications, seriously you should have seen some of applications we got! We needed a drummer quickly as weddings and other gigs were fast approaching and we wanted the new drummer to slot in, learn the set and put up with quite possibly two of the weirdest humans on the planet. Jon was the first person we auditioned and even from the clothes he wore on the day (obviously looked at our website and matched the clothes for the audition) we knew he was going to be a good fit. He smashed through the songs we asked him to learn and a few extras as well. Which is why we had to pick Jon to start our new band line up.
The first wedding show we exhibited at was The Liverpool Wedding Show and it was busy. Lots of enquiries and a solid amount of bookings, again, thanks guys! The season started and we were busy, at one point in August we had 5 weddings in a week! It was tiring but we love what we do and performing is something we thrive upon. We travelled all over from Devon, Oxford, Lancaster and a nice local wedding in Chester.
Playing this many weddings with the same lineup meant we got to really become tight as a band and learn how each of us work. The setlist was perfect with the welcome addition of any requests and our set up times had a record of 20 minutes to load in and sound check!
We still have lots more gigs left for this year and we can’t wait to end on a high in Wilmslow at Anthology. Anyone who needs plans for NYE then feel free to pop along and welcome 2020 in full on Pedal Tones style!
